See, this is a verification for Olympia, so it’s an Olympics joke. Get it? Moving on. Their weather was just about as expected, in that it was cloudy, but with the sun breaking through by Saturday, when the temperature climbed to 75. That must have felt like a dream to residents of the Olympia, who had been shrouded in drear for so long. Accuweather got the gold in this one.
Actuals: Friday – High 69, Low 47
Saturday – High 75, Low 42
I am almost certain this is the first time we have ever forecast for Washington’s state capital, at the southern reach of Puget Sound.
At 154PM, PT, Olympia was reporting a temperature of 62 degrees with blustery south winds and overcast skies. A weak wave rode directly over the Pacific Northwest, however the clouds over Puget Sound and Olympia more likely had to do with an overall onshore flow. Clear skies at Shelton were likely to build southeast to Olympia before all was said and done today.
As the upper trough goes about it’s business in the Canadian Rockies, expect a clearing trend for the region, while a system organizes in the Canadian Praries. There may be a few morning clouds early tomorrow morning, while Saturday looks to be magnificent.
Tomorrow – Mostly cloudy, increasingly sunny. High 69, Low 53
Saturday – Mostly sunny, High 74, Low 44
TWC: Tomorrow – Partly cloudy skies High 69, Low 49
Saturday – Times of sun and clouds High 73, Low 46
AW: Tomorrow – Times of clouds and sun High 68, Low 47
Saturday – Clouds giving way to sun High 72, Low 45
NWS: Tomorrow – Mostly cloudy High 65, Low 49
Saturday – Partly sunny High 68, Low 47
WB: TYomorrow – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. High 65, Low 49
Saturday – Mostly cloudy in the morning…becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon High 69, Low 46
The NWS/Weatherbug, going cooler than expected. Interesting. Clouds are very low, and barely showing up on satellite.
