Today we head off to the Gulf Coast and see how the fine folks of Mobile are doing!
At 953pm CDT, the temperature at Mobile, AL was 79 degrees under mostly clear skies. An area of low pressure is bringing heavy rains to the Carolinas and Georgia and push into the TN Valley somewhat as high pressure over the Northeast keeps it from rushing north too quickly. A couple scattered showers were in the area earlier this evening, but have since died off, and with a weak axis of high pressure shifting in, most of the precip associated with that low pressure should stay off to the north on Friday. Saturday should be dry as well, with precip deflecting up into the Mid-Atlantic states and Gulf moisture remaining suppressed off to the south. Overall, should be a pretty nice start to the weekend for the Central Gulf Coast!
