It got a little stormy today in North Carolina. Will that continue in Burlington?
At 1216AM, ET, Burlington was reporting a temperature of 72 degrees with overcast skies and light rain. A weak wave in the southeastern US is going to reorganize through the day on Friday, enhancing precipitation once again, however it will quickly pull offshore as it strengthens.
The heaviest precipitation will fall tomorrow evening as the upper level pattern tightens up and introduces vorticity into the system. The heaviest activity will be on the coast tomorrow evening. The wave, which is fairly short, will pivot off to sea shortly after midnight on Saturday. Expect a much drier atmosphere on Saturday, which, when coupled with the increasee in sun, will make for a warmer day as the weekend commences.
