One of the consequences of the stagnant pattern we have found ourselves in has been a sludge of stratus and thick cumulus over the southeastern United States. There is definitely the sun angle for temperatures to climb into the 80s, but the radiation just isn’t reaching the ground to generate that kind of warmth. The past two days, those cooling clouds were paired with some light rain in Atlanta. It wasn’t entirely unexpected, though most outlets didn’t mention the threat on Saturday. Maybe it was simply people not wanting to ruin peoples’ entire weekends. Weathernation is less concerned with making friends than it is about making correct forecasts, however, and came through on top.
Actuals: Friday – .01 inches of rain, High 69, Low 46
Saturday – Trace of rain, High 73, Low 52
