There aren’t many large population centers in Utah, so getting this forecast for Ogden is a rare treat,
At 553PM, MT, Ogden was reporting clear skies and a temperature of 63 degrees. The warm winter is continuing into spring for the western United States, as a broad upper level ridge is building into the western US.
The wave structure is quite high amplitude, with troughs developing over the Gulf of Alaska and an even sharper feature over northwestern Mexico. In the eastern part of the country, this sort of set up would rob the area to the north of warm flow, but as an interior portion of the country with no real access to major moisture sources, Utah can create it’s own hot, dry air mass, which it will do (relatively speaking) in response to hte stronger ridge to the north.

It’s been a long time since we have had a nice easy forcast like this. We’ll see how close these temperatures end up. They are much warmer than most models suggested right now, so everyone is skewing heavily towards the RUC, which is a short term, more frequently run model.
