Hartford, Connecticut

We are coming to Hartford at just the right time. The snow that plagued the area the last several days is now off the coast, and things are looking up.

At 957PM, ET, Hartford was reporting a temperature of 21 degrees with clear skies. The cold front that finally moved through the region this evening was laden with a moisture, and wast followed by a strong pool of cold air, now smothering New England.
A weak jet trough moving through Hudson Bay will introduce a weak area of low pressure that attempts to move through New England Saturday night, but temperatures will be cool enough and moisture will be limited enough that it will not be able to hurdle the higher terrain of interior New England. Although a bit on the chilly side, Hartford will remain dry for the next two days.

It’s interesting to see such a wide variation for temperatures tomorrow. The NAM is going much warmer than the GFS, but since when does everyone hitch a ride to the NAM? Here is the satellite, showing that precipitation is mercifully offshore. Woohoo!
