The seasons first Arctic incursion

It’s only 8pm this evening, certainly not to the point where temperatures are at their coolest points for the night, and already, it is in the teens in the Dakotas. Take a look:
The culprit is a cold front that is moving into the Ohio Valley, bringing the first snows of the season to the region. Also notable is how much the temperatures are dropping. 15 degrees around Yankton, South Dakota in the past 24 hours!

When those snow showers and rain move out, the Great Lakes can expect some significant drops in temperature as well, though not quite as brisk as it has been in the Dakotas.
