Brownsville, Texas

It’s in the 60s in Minneapolis. How much warmer will it be at the southern tip of Texas?

At 1253PM, CT, Brownsville was reporting a temperature of 57 degrees with cloudy skies. An upper level trough over Texas is generating some surface rotation over the western Gulf. Moisture is wrapping into Texas, and surface convergence is leading to widespread showers and thunderstorms across the state, though over deep south Texas, Brownsville and the surrounding area were seeing a westerly flow, eliminating the chance for showers there, but not the stratus.
The upper trough is undercutting a ridge over the center of the country, and will eventually be pulled north with the prevailing flow. Streaming moisture will continue streaming into the low, with a band of showers and storms extending through much of east Texas, and initial indications are that the rain and clouds will be squeezed out of Texas by tomorrow afternoon, meaning Monday should be more pleasant.
Tomorrow – Morning showers possible, clearing late, High 74, Low 58
Monday – Mostly sunny, warm. High 80, Low 65

TWC: Tomorrow – Isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then skies turning partly cloudy late High 77, Low 60
Monday – Times of sun and clouds high 83, Low 67

AW: Tomorrow – Mostly cloudy and warmer with a shower or thunderstorm High 76, Low 60
Monday – Partly sunny High 80, Low 66

NWS: Tomorrow – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, high 76, Low 59
Monday – A 10 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny High 82, Low 65

WB: Tomorrow – Warmer. Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms High 77, Low 59
Monday – Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers in the morning… Then slight chance of rain in the afternoon. High 82, Low 65

A ten percent chance of rain! And also, at forecast time, it’s actually warmer here than in Brownsville, Texas. Amazing.
