The difference between meteorologists and geologists

I can't tell you how often I am asked about earthquakes and volcanoes. People seem to think that as a meteorologist, a scientist that deals with the atmosphere, I should understand all about plate tectonics and what not. Nay. That would be the job of the geologist. I have provided this clever diagram of the areas of interest of the meteorologist and the geologist.

As you can see, meteorologists are all about the sky, and geologists are all about whats going on below ground. So that should be clear now, correct? Because I... Hey! Hey! Indian Meteorological Department! You aren't helping! You either Japanese Meteorological Agency!
