Detroit, Michigan

Back to the late night forecasts, as my timing and management thereof is getting a little out of hand. I daresay I've never forecasted for Detroit before, so this should be mildly entertaining. It has a reputation for derechos, but there won't be anything like that tonight.

At 1153PM ET, Detroit was reporting a temperature of 62 with low clouds in the area in the wake of a cold front that recently passed through the area. The radar was filled with ground clutter as mist was still prevelant in the area, but there were a few showers, particularly in the Strathroy, Ontario area. A fairly evident front was draped through Ontario and on into the center of the country, and it was forecast to continue and eastward projection despite the fact that the parent low was well into Labrador. Another low was developing along the boundary near Montreal.
The front, which is being generated by a longer wave trough, which suggests that the low clouds will presist in the Detroit area tomorrow. A secondary wave which is dropping a pulse of weak energy through the Wisconsin area currently will reach Detroit tomorrow afternoon, and after increasing the chance for a brief shower, will begin the work of clearing out the overcast conditions. Friday will be clearer and slightly warmer as a weak ridge will occupy the Great Lakes area during the day.
Tomorrow - Cloudy with scattered showersi n the early afternoon. High 72, Low 58
Friday - Clearing and a little warmer, High 73, Low 54

TWC: Tomorrow - Sunny, High 72, Low 50
Friday - Partly cloudy, High 72, Low 54

AW: Tomorrow - Less humid with clouds giving way to some sun High 73, Low 57
Friday - Nice with plenty of sunshine HIgh 73, Low 55

NWS: Tomorrow - Partly sunny, HIgh 70, Low 63
Friday - Mostly sunny High 71, Low 53

A look at that radar shows the pollution from the low clouds, as well as the remnants of what passed through earlier in the day.
